Sinterklaas

He is dressed in red but thinks green: Sinterklaas arrived in a cyclo to visit the Belgian community in Penh this year. This is a significant decrease in the ecological impact the patron of the children is usually inflicting the world with his incessant travelling…

  1. It’s a beautiful photo! I love the gesture of the little girl in the breeze-blown dress and all the enjoyable dashes of colour and small details—nicely organized complexity. Things seem to move and change so fast in crowds. Hey, I am glad to be able to comment now…I couldn’t before…(Oops, please post this one. I fixed a typo.)

  2. always weird for a northern european to see santa in a hot country.. reindeer in argentina and all that..
i´m sure he could shave the beard into a goatee to cool down and people would not mind.
props for the new comments box john.

  4. Welcome back Bob… The settings were changed when I updated to a new version of WordPress… Back on track now.

Black Pete was there all right but out of frame. In French they call him ‘Père Fouettard’ (‘Whipping Father’). Now if that is not intent on scaring the whatever out of the kids I don’t know what is. But then having manageable/ controllable scary characters is very healthy for kids (see the Andersen tales: SCARY).
