China is all over Cambodia… Since 50 years (and more). They supported the Khmer Rouge, and kept doing so long after the Pol Pot regime fell (the West too by the way). Today they can invest heavily without being questioned. Today they manage to have 20 Uighur seeking refugee status in Cambodia to be sent back to China.

The Chinese are happy in Cambodia…

PS: I’ll be away to no-internet-land for a few days starting tomorrow sunday…

And have a happy (Chinese) New year.

Well, at least 107… From 1981 to 2009. A sleepy dive in the archive revealed on my website

I thought it would be nice after the series on beds.

Well, sort of… The picture selection and sequence for the 60-page publication on Cambodian land issues in a new magazine (more on this magazine later: buzz buzz buzz) is finished. Now I have to rewrite all the texts and the captions. That’s the toughest part… Means no rest yet. But worse: no new pictures for the next couple of weeks… It is starting to itch again.

Just added a few beds I slept in while travelling/working on my website.

I don’t really get that feeling of intense happiness when the plane lifts off nowadays. In fact I came to hate travelling, but I love to be somewhere else… Dilemma…

Yes… A flyover in Phnom Penh. Followed by an efficient transport system, bicycle lanes, restricted traffic in the center, mandatory parking lots space with new buildings?

Yesterday Sambo celebrated her 50th birthday. Mahouts, friends and monks threw a party and/or prayed for her at Wat Phnom. What will she be seeing next?
