Meanwhile On The Peace Front…
While negotiations are ongoing between the ruling CPP and the opposition CNRP about an investigation regarding alleged frauds during the Cambodian 2013 parliamentary elections, held on July 28th and which saw the CPP lose a considerable amount of seats to the CNRP, some 300 to 400 people gathered for the second time (first time HERE) at Wat Phnom to pray for a peacefull resolution of the crisis. Increasing the tension a few notches, armoured vehicles and tanks are sporadically spotted around Phnom Penh, and several hundred Military Police were being trained in crowd control techniques during a supposedly discreet session at the Olympic Stadium.
