Circling Boeung Kak Lake

The sand pumped into Boeung Kak Lake by development company Shukaku Inc. has now reached the North Western edge of the lake, forcing even more families out of their homes. And these are homes made out of bricks and stone, not just timber and tin sheets. Compensation: 8500$… Another compensation: the house where some of company’s security guards were living was also evacuated (with trucks from the municipal police…).

Only the Northern and the Eastern side of the lake remain free of sand.
