Arrest sparks protest… again…

The Boeung Kak Lake community today protested the previous day’s arrest of Yorm Bopha in front of the Municipal Courthouse. They joined about 80 people from the Borei Keila community (violently evicted at the beginning of January) who were protesting the trial of one of their members. The Cambodian judicial system is frequently used as an intimidation tool for communities involved in land issues.
