Hunger Strike Sets One Step Further

4 of the 15 Boeung Kak Lake residents jailed at Prey Sar prison have started a hunger strike since sunday evening. This morning the Boeung Kak Lake and Borei Keila residents gathered in front of the Royal Palace and the Ministry of Justice to deliver a petition requesting the 15 be freed.
And meanwhile, according to the Cambodia Daily, the office of the Shukaku Erdos Hongjun Property Development company is closed, most of its employees having been laid off. Shukaku Inc., with whom Erdos Hongjun teamed up in 2010, is responsible for the filling of the Boeung Kak Lake and the eviction of 3000 families.
