Buddhist Compassion

I read that, through a directive by the Supreme Patriarch, Luon Sovath, a Buddhist monk involved in the defence of people evicted from their land, was banned from pagodas in the capital of the Kingdom of Wonder? I thought Buddhism had a lot to do with compassion? Well not in the Kingdom of Wonder it seems…
