Pipes and Deadlines

These are pipes… used to pump sand from the Mekong river, some 8km away, into Boeung Kak Lake. It seems that after the Appeals Court decision to reject the injuction by the residents lawyer to stop the filling of the lake, that the pumping has ceased. Or is it because of the approaching New Year?

CAMBODIA. Phnom Penh. 30/12/2008

At Dey Krohom, the 100 remaining families have received yet another order by the Municipality to leave on December 30th. This is December 30th… They are still there… Will it be tonight? Usually the MP’s, the thugs and the trucks show up at 3:00am. Or will it be on the first hours of January 1st?
