One always comes back to Cambodia…
30 years ago, in August 1978, Gunnar Bergström, now 57, was invited by the Khmer Rouge regime to visit Cambodia during 14 days. Being a member at the time of a Maoist organisation, he reported favourably on what he was shown of the Democratic Kampuchea revolution. Seven months after he came back to Sweden he retracted what he said. Today he is visiting Cambodia again, touring the provinces with DCCAM (Documentation Center of Cambodia), to try and explain how such a mistake could/can take place. (story nr: VIJ2008086)
