An emerging market
If this is not proof of Cambodia little by little integrating the world economy: marketing guru’s have found out that the emerging middle-class is willing to spend money on its offspring. Shoppping malls with playgrounds and toy shops are popping up left and right. (VIJ2008063)

love #1, and it’s funny, cause that same plane is in one of the malls in downtown TO…and a smaller version in a barbershop for kids in our neighborhood……such a small world…
on another note, have you ever read Tiziano Terzani’s “A Fortune Teller Told Me”?…Marina is about to read it….interested to see what he says about Cambodia…

Bob I suspect
you’ve been reading Khmer Chronicles Nr 11 on the Magnum Blog ( http://blog.magnumphotos.com/2008/08/the_khmer_chronicles_issue_nr_11_a_window_of_opportunity.html ). Tiziano Terzani is mentioned in the comments there.
Haven’t read him yet but had the opportunity of meeting him at the New Delhi press club a few years back, without, ignorant me, knowing who he really was. Been scrambling since a few days to find one of these books here in PPenh… It’s the least I can do if he keeps catching up on me…
