Oh, nice car…

Spent basically the whole day (well: from 6:50 am to 5:30 pm, with a short break for lunch) staring at a street barred by a bench and policemen sometimes sitting on that bench. The bench and the policemen were following the movements and developments of the shadows on the surface of the street. The street was leading to Tuol Sleng. Formerly a Khmer Rouge interrogation center known as S21, it was run by Mr. Duch, and some 14000 people were interrogated and tortured there before being killed at Chhoeung Ek, some 15 km out of town. Today the ECCC (the ‘Khmer Rouge Tribunal’) was conducting an on site investigation with Mr. Duch, survivors of the prison and other witnesses. Hence the security , the bench for the policemen… and the express recommendation not to take pictures of Mr. Duch unless risking to be blacklisted at the ECCC. Not that there was much the ECCC would show us… Except that bench, the policemen and that street… Oh and the white car… It flashed by at the end of the day. I guess Mr. Duch was sitting in it… Tinted (bulletproof?) glass. Couldn’t see him. But then I guess he was not waving at the crowds…
