Sunday morning rest? You bet…
It has been quiet at Dey Krohom lately. And then at 3:00am this morning (yes sunday morning obviously) the loudspeakers were yelling again, spreading the famous speach by PM Hun Sen when he promised the people from the area would not be evicted without decent compensation. As it turned out the 7NG employees, with the back-up of some thirty to forty policemen deployed two barriers made of (empty) oil drums on each access road to the site.
The barriers were promptly dismantled by the inhabitants while the animation at the market stalls picked up where it left yesterday… At 9:00am nothing more happened… Waiting…
