Power struggles…

Sorry the weblog was not updated lately but the reason is simple: no power at home. And without power no Internet… The famous crooks at Electricité du Cambodge dropped by yesterday morning, when no one was at home and they put the electricity bill (0,18$ per Kw!!!) in the letterbox, cut off the power, took away OUR electricity meter attached to the pole outside on the street and left a note attached to the pole saying we didn’t pay the bill (the one they put in the letterbox the same day as they cut the electricity)… Now how considerate is that? No warning, no phone call, no one ringing the bell and telling the maid they would cut off the power. Nothing… Funny thing is that the “unpaid” bill is EXACTLY the same amount as last months bill. Coincidence? You bet… So this morning I will not take any pictures but spend my time fighting with the electricity company to have things straightened out and trying to pay only the bill and NOT the fine plus the costs of reinstalling MY electricity meter … Too bad because there should be a Santa Claus on an elephant roaming the streets of Phnom  Penh somewhere…
