Spent a few days digging in the Khmer Rouge times again: a 3-day assignment (the first assignment in 1 1/2 year) for L’Express. Places of memories, portraits of people with memories.

And then, after that, for two evenings, took pictures of the rehearsals of Khmeropédies II. A choreography by Emmanuelle Phuong. She has danced with Baryshnikov and now, with her Khmer origins, she is questioning her roots, checking and pushing and cross-pollinating, bridging between classical khmer dance and contemporary ballet. And the result is VERY interesting. A healthy breath of fresh air on tradition.

I just updated my website with a short feature on Kampot pepper

Enjoy… And buy the REAL Kampot pepper. It is really the best…

Especially when nothing much is happening, be it content- or graphics- wise. Here at a press conference held by the inhabitants of Boeung Kak lake, resisting their eviction by Shukaku company…

Yes, what is with me and fires?

Some ten houses on street 438 went up in flames in 1:30h. On my way to the Ka-set.info office… (Story VIJ2009020)

There is a little multimedia piece with pictures of Vandy Rattana and myself on the Ka-set.info site about “visual pollution”…

Well I don’t think it is pollution but a blessing, preventing the eyes to get bored…

It’s a treat: the oldest picture (so far) in my database… Just a few days less than 40 years ago…
