Day 2 of the ‘Secessionist Trial‘ at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, involving Mam Sonando, a very popular journalist and director of the independent Beehive Radio. Mr. Mam is accused of instigating a secessionist movement in Kratie province, where a 14-year old girl was fatally shot by the police during a land dispute. The verdict is expected in the afternoon and it doesn’t look good. Mr Mam Sonando might be convicted to 15 years of prison. He is past 70 years old…
