Missed that one…

Last monday all the families from Damnak Trayoung were moved to Oudong, 40Km NW of Phnom Penh. I was not told…

I’m a bit p…d because this eviction somehow is the closure of the Dey Krohom eviction, and I arrived too late to catch the usual chaos.

Anyhow… Those people had nothing. Now they might even have less than nothing (living 40Km from Phnom Penh is not really improving job opportunities). All they have is a promise for something.

CAMBODIA. Oudong (Kandal). 17/12/2009: All the families which were dumped at Damnak Trayoung after the Jan. 2008 Dey Krohom eviction, finally, after one year, were taken to a place, in a rice field 40 km from Phnom Penh, where they will be able to claim ownership for a 4x8m plot. The water comes from a pond.
